The biggest update that the NVIDIA Shield is getting, comes to the Game Stream. One of the features that NVIDIA Shield users have been looking for is the ability to stream games from their GeForce GTX enabled PC away from home. NVIDIA has now made that a reality with the Remote Streaming. While remote streaming may be in beta at this point in time, it’s a huge leap forward in what gamers want! If you’re worried about having to leave you PC on at all times to do this, no worries on that front as they have also brought in the ability for Wake on LAN and Remote login! I suppose it wouldn’t do much good to be able to stream your PC games if you can’t wake your system of login to it! Another of the perks to the NVIDIA Shield update is the ability to stream from a GeForce enable gaming notebook, previously you needed to have a GeForce enabled desktop to stream within you home network.
In addition to the Game Stream updates, the console mode is receiving a few tweaks. Instead of having to use a bluetooth game pad, users can now set up a bluetooth keyboard and mouse to play games on. If you’re like me and not a fan of game pads, and you can be much more lethal with a keyboard and mouse, this comes as great news!
