Shuttle Announces Barebone XH61V 3-Litre Mini PC

Shuttle today announced the Barebone XH61V 3-Litre Mini PC. This is an improved version of the XH61, featuring USB 3.0, more memory and greater processor compatibility. It’s aimed at those who want a very small, space-saving PC featuring very quiet operation.

The Shuttle Barebone XH61V is based on an Intel H61 Express chipset and is compatible with the latest Intel processors for the LGA1155 socket. Processors built with 32nm or 22nm micro architecture and with two to four cores are suitable for use with this new model. These include Intel Core, Pentium and Celeron processors up to 65W TDP. System cooling is provided by a heatpipe with two extremely quiet 60mm fans for air circulation. Both SO-DIMM slots on the motherboard work in dual-channel mode and can accommodate up to a total of 16GB DDR3 memory. An external 90W power supply is included as well.

If required, the slim case of the XH61V can be fitted with three drives. Installation options for 3x 2.5″ HDD/SSD drives or alternatively 2x 2.5″ HDD/SSD drives plus an optical slimline drive are present. Connection is made via a SATA 3 Gbit/s interface. Additional cards (e.g. WLAN) or mSATA-SSD drives can be inserted in two Mini-PCIe 2.0 slots (1x full-size, 1x half-size). The XH61V also has HDMI, DVI-I, 2x USB 3.0, 4x USB 2.0 and an optical S/PDIF output to be found at the front and rear of the PC.

The product is available now, priced at 159.00 Euro (ex VAT).

“We often recommend this model for quiet but powerful workstation PCs, for HD media playback at home and thanks to the robustness of the case even for professional applications,” states Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH. “And if, despite the three possible drives, you run out of disk space, the machine can be hooked up to a NAS thanks to the Gigabit interface.”
