Lian Li Announces PC-V650 ATX Chassis Featuring Side Mounted PSU

By

Today, Lian Li announced the PC-V650 ATX/mATX chassis, featuring an unusual sideways PSU mounting and measuring 251x360x427mm. This has been done to make a fully featured case that can accept enthusiast-grade components, cooling (including water) and drives, while reducing its height, at the cost of extra width (which is no bad thing for cooling performance). Note that it cannot accept graphics cards longer than the motherboard’s width. It’s available now in black and silver for US$199 / 195 / 148 (VAT not included). More details and pictures are available at the link below.

Even though the PC-V650 is shorter, up to seven 3.5″ hard drives (two hot-swappable) and four 2.5″ hard drives can be installed. The bottom 3.5″ HDD cage, containing four 3.5″ slots, is easily removed allowing expansion cards up to 370mm (14.5″) in length. Above the hard drive cages, there is space for one 5.25″ drive.
