First Windows 8 RTM, Now Windows Server 2012 RTM Leaked Online

By

Three days ago, Microsoft signed off on the final RTM build of Windows 8 and handed to OEMs, but just one day later that copy had been leaked to file sharing sites, no doubt much to Microsoft’s annoyance. Now, the same fate has befallen the final RTM build of the server version, Windows Server 2012.

Windows 8 Enterprise ‘N’ Edition (no Windows Media Player) is the version initially leaked and other variants are sure to follow soon. Now, notorious Russian leaker WZOR has revealed on Twitter today that Windows Server 2012 RTM has also leaked and is an “official” Microsoft image. The build is 3.23GB in size, which includes the Standard and Datacenter versions. Note that Microsoft’s server operating systems are all 64-bit only since Windows Server 2008 R2 (aka Windows 7 server version). The official release date for Windows Server 2012 is September 4.

Microsoft has already announced the different versions of Windows Server 2012, along with their prices. It has also confirmed that it will not make a new version of its Windows Home Server product.
