Ubisoft Delays ‘Arctic Strike’ DLC For Ghost Recon

By

Ubisoft’s just published (June 28) game Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was due to receive its first DLC offering on July 3, less than a week after its release. However, this now won’t be the case, since Ubisoft has stated that it has been pushed back to later in July to polish the content, “The first downloadable content pack for Ghost Recon Future Soldier is delayed until later in July, well have an exact date soon. We decided to take a small amount of extra time to further polish the content.”

Ubisoft also explained that they plan many updates to the game over its lifetime, “there are multiple updates planned over the life of the game and the next title update is almost here it is currently in submission”. Ubisoft list several of the upcoming updates, which include improvements to matchmaking and connection; PS3 voice chat and various other fixes and improvements – full list at the link below.

The DLC will cost 7.99 (PSN) or 800 MS Points (Xbox 360). Be nice if it would be free like it is for Valve games, wouldn’t it? Also, the fact that it comes so soon after release makes it feel more like content that’s been removed, only to be sold back to gamers to milk more money out of them.

The Arctic Strike DLC extends your Ghost Recon Future Soldier Experience, bringing you from the streets of Moscow to the far reaches of the Arctic. It includes additional multiplayer maps, a new adversarial mode, a new Guerrilla Mode co-op map and six additional weapons to provide for even more diversity in your arsenal.
