Apple Email Reveals New Mac Pro Line For 2013

By

There’s been some concern among the Apple faithful that Apple wants to discontinue their high end Mac Pro line of PCs. This is especially so since the model lineup has not been refreshed since 2010, other than a tiny CPU speed bump the other day. Also, new Mac Pros weren’t even mentioned at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) keynote presentation, furthering fears that the line would be discontinued.

However, in an email to a customer known only as “Franz”, Apple revealed that a new Mac Pro is on the way for 2013. Tantalizingly, they didn’t offer any more information than that though, so we’ll just have to wait. In the same message, Apple also promised significant updates to Final Cut Pro X. Apple has confirmed to Forbes that the email is genuine, which we have quoted in full, below.

Franz,

Thanks for your email. Our Pro customers like you are really important to us. Although we didnt have a chance to talk about a new Mac Pro at todays event, dont worry as were working on something really great for later next year. We also updated the current model today.

Weve been continuing to update Final Cut Pro X with revolutionary pro features like industry leading multi-cam support and we just updated Aperture with incredible new image adjustment features.

We also announced a MacBook Pro with a Retina Display that is a great solution for many pros.
