By

Point of View (POV) has announced their first Kepler-based multimedia GPU, the POV NVIDIA GeForce GT 640. The card, which is designed to be power efficient and run cool, is based on NVIDIA’s 28nm Kepler architecture. The new GPU has all the features its larger siblings have, such as Adaptive Vsync, FXAA, NVIDIA Surround and more. The GPU will come in two variations, one with 1GB DDR3 memory (VGA-640-A1-1024 GeForce GT 640 1024 MB DDR3) and the other with 2GB of DDR3 memory (VGA-640-A1-2048 GeForce GT 640 2048 MB DDR3). Both GPUs will pack 384 Cuda cores clocked at 902 MHz, with the GDDR3 memory being clocked at 1782 MHz and uses a 128-bit bus. The graphics cards will of course utilize the PCI-Express 3.0 interface. Display connectivity will consist of one dual-link DVI, one HDMI and one VGA. The Point of View GeForce GT 640 will provide excellent performance when it comes to HD video, 3D video and entry level gaming.
