By

Established in 2008, MyDigitalSSD has spent the past four years making flash-based devices for the consumer market. It looks like MyDigitalSSD is starting to make a marketing push into the ‘DIY’ and enthusiast sector and is releasing a new SSD series called Bullet Proof 3. The Bullet Proof 3 (BP3) SATA III 2.5 inch solid state drive that uses a Phison S8 controller with Toshiba Toggle 2.0 NAND flash chips. The drives are available in capacities of 64GB ($110) to 512GB ($530) and have a sequential read speed of up to 500 MB/s with a write speed of up to 320 MB/s on the 128GB and larger drives. The 4k random read is 16,000 IOPS and the 4k random writes are 46,000 IOPS. Looks like a pretty solid SATA III drive and we hope to get one in to review for you as we have never worked with or used and MyDigitalSSD products before.
