Want To Play Classic Games From The 70’s and 80’s For Free? Look No Further.

While the classic games from the 70’s and 80’s are a bit dated for my tastes, it doesn’t mean that they aren’t awesome for just about everyone else (Although 3D Tick Tack Toe on the Atari 2600 really got the heart pumping). The website archive.org has a huge online database of free to play games from the classics of classic consoles.

Their database includes the Atari 2600, Atari 7800, The ColecoVision, TheMagnavox Odyssey and The Astrocade. In addition to the console database, they also have some classic PC games as well. And in all seriousness, I just about jumped out of my chair when I realized they had Star Trek 25th anniversary edition, which unfortunately is significantly less difficult or graphically amazing than I thought it was when I was 8.

Regardless, to have a big online database of games with easy access that doesn’t involve significant ROM and emulator modifications is wonderful. So for those of you gamers interested in reconnecting with your past, this is a great opportunity.
