MW3 To Get ‘Face Off’ Mode and Content Collection 2

By

Xbox 360 fans of Activision’s super-successful Modern Warfare 3 will be pleased that they will be getting a new kill mode on May 15 called Face Off and some free DLC to complement the distinctly non-free Content Collection that has been available for some time. Face Off allows friends and strangers to kill each other in a new way, by designing it for 1v1 or 2v2 firefights, with its four maps built specifically for small, intense close-quarters battles between a small number of soldiers. There are two free maps launching with Face Off: Aground is set on a beached ship on the coast of Scotland, while Erosion is set on the Italian coast during a volcanic eruption.

At the same time, Content Collection 2 will made available on May 15 to Xbox 360 gamers who subscribe to Call of Duty Elite and May 21 to members of the free non-Elite version. This will include the above content, plus several more maps. There has been no firm date announced for the release of this DLC for the PC, which PC owners will be used to putting up with. However, what’s surprising is that PS3 owners are in the same predicament. The video below demonstrates all the lovely new content awaiting Xbox 360 owners only.

On May 15 two of the Face Off maps will be launched to the public for free on Xbox Live. To be clear, Elite isn’t required to download them, just Modern Warfare 3 itself.
