Dark Souls To Get PC Release

By

It seems internet petitions do indeed work on occasion; publisher Namco Bandai has revealed that Dark Souls, developed by From Software, will be gracing the PC. For those unaware, a campaign was started back in January by PC gamers who wanted the insanely difficult RPG to be released on the PC platform. As such, they went with the typical internet petition alongside active participation on the Namco Bandai forums. The petition seems to have been the deciding factor, as a forum admin continued to encourage users to request the PC release and went so far as to say it would be a “personal objective to make sure every relevant people in Namco Bandai Games is in touch with this formidable effort”. The community itself, with the admin’s encouragement, managed to garner 46,000 signatures which has culminated in success for PC gamers wanting to play this incredible game. A German magazine, PC Action, has confirmed the PC release on their cover as an exclusive reveal. The PC release, called “Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition”, will have extra bosses with the rest of the content being the same as its console counterparts. PC gamers can expect the title to be released in August 2012.
