Zalman’s Upcoming HD 7950 To Feature VF3000 Cooler

By

Zalman entered the graphics card market late last year and are serious about making cards that differentiate themselves from the competition. Their upcoming HD 7950 card, model HD7950-Z, will feature their high performance VF3000 cooler, which can normally be bought on its own. This cooler has two large red LED-lit fans, large aluminium fins and comes with the obligatory heatpipes. It’s claimed to cool the card 20C lower than the reference cooler, but to achieve this performance, it does take up three slots, which many users won’t want to sacrifice.

The clock rates on this card are apparently left at the reference clock speeds, but with this beefy cooler strutting its stuff there should be no issues getting a solid overclock when taking the manual approach. With that said, apparently ZALMAN is also working on bringing a factory overclocked model to market in the near future as well.
