ASRock Seeks ODM Orders Of IPC Motherboards

Almost a week since it unveiled its first industrial-PC (IPC) motherboards, industry giant ASRock has said it is actively seeking ODM orders from IPC makers. According to ASRock, if marketed properly IPC motherboards could contribute to the company’s revenue, since they have gross margins of 25% at the very least. This margin is far higher then what is seen in consumer PC motherboards, thus why its an attractive revenue prospect for ASRock. As it stands, ASRock is just tapping into the market segment, but hopes to see some benefits in early 2013.

ASRock shipped 7.8 million motherboards in 2011 and aims to ship 10 million units in 2012. Motherboards currently account for 90% of ASRock’s revenues, and home-theater PCs 10%
