AMD Hawaii GPU Images Leaking Already?

By

A forum thread on ChipHell has some convincing pictures that are said to of the upcoming AMD Hawaii GPU. An individual posting under the name getwinder has posted up not just one, but five pictures that show off what is said to be the AMD Hawaii GPU press box and some teaser shots of the PCB diagram of the reference card.

The images don’t fully show the box or video card and are basically just teaser images. This could mean that they are totally fake, but we aren’t for certain. The two images above are said to be showing off the packaging that will be provided to press members in September when the Hawaii GPU would be seeded out. The images barely show what is inside the box, but you can make out the formation of a tidal wave and the AMD logo. You also see something for Battlefield 4, which is going to be an AMD game title and likely in an upcoming bundle. It is expected that AMD will announce their next generation cards in Hawaii, so this makes sense and leads you to believe that these images are the real deal.

Next up you have several shots of the PCB layout along with the poster saying that the AMD Hawaii reference video card PCB uses a 6 + 1 Phase PWM while the Radeon HD 7970 featured a 5+1 Phase PWM. The last image shows the PCIe x16 slot and something above the slot has been blurred out. Could this be where the product name will be? Why would they show the AMD logo in one image, but then blur something out in the next? Doesn’t make much sense to us, but we are intrigued. The most exciting thing about the PCB is that it appears to be possibly white!
