Half-Life 3 Unofficially Announced…Sort Of
The internet and blogosphere are buzzing about the possible release of Half-Life 3 after a picture of a Valve employee wearing an HL3 t-shirt at a local gaming event. The previous big rumor was that Valve would be releasing Half-Life 2: Episode 3, but it looks like Valve has decided to go straight to Half-Life 3 based on the fashion statement caught in the photo below. There are many who say that this rumor is ripe and just in time for this weekend’s 2011 Video Game Awards. We will see!
But as seen in the Twitter post, Ekanayak used the hashtag “#ValveTrolling,” pointing out that Valve is likely trying to cause a few waves with the shirt — which has obviously worked. We’ve seen enough early “leaks,” lost devices and subtle hints to know that sudden appearances like this aren’t coincidental — it’s a great way to keep people interested in your upcoming product, a good PR stunt.
