ASUS Transformer Prime Launches December 9th – Pre-Order Now!

ASUS officially announced its NVIDIA Tegra 3 powered Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet a number of weeks ago, but it has now been listed for pre-order just before the holiday shopping rush. The ASUS Transformer Prime will be the first NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core tablet to hit the market. According to GameStop theyll ship the tablet on December 9th to those who are pre-ordering it.

ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime Pricing

Gamestop has the 32GB version with a bundle for $539.98 and it includes a $60 discount on a gaming controller for tablets. The regular 32GB version is $499.99 and the optional keyboard/battery dock is $149.99. The 64GB version isn’t listed yet. The tablet is shipping with Android 3.2 ‘Honeycomb’ and will be upgradeable to Android 4.0 ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’ in the weeks to come. NVIDIA recently released a video showing Android 4.0 running on the Transformer Prime, so it doesn’t look like there will be any delay or issues upgrading this tablet to Android Prime.
