Samsung Launches Full HD 1080p Analog Video Surveillance Solutions

By

Samsung America today unveiled its newly developed full HD (1080p) analog video surveillance product series. The new line-up is comprised of an HD-SDI 1920 x 1080p box camera, an HD-SDI 1920 x 1080p dome camera and a four-channel HD-SDI DVR. The HD-SDI products provide over five times the image quality of conventional analog technology and offer a more cost-effective and easier alternative to network-based systems, using standard coax cable. The Samsung four-channel SRD-480D DVR delivers real time recording at 720p HD resolution for each channel with 1080p full HD resolution recording support. In addition to H.264 compression technology, the SRD-480D features a de-interlace function to help delineate the edges of moving objects. Audio can be recorded on all four channels and the SATA HDDs (up to 2TB per) allow DVD-RWs and USB devices to be used for archiving. No word on pricing, but it is pretty wild how far surveillance has come over the years!
