Apple iPhone 4S Hits Store Shelves Worldwide

Today the much anticipated Apple iPhone 4S will hit shelves in seven countries. The newest iPhone promising better software and an improved camera helped set Apple pre-order sales records in the week leading up to today’s release. Many industry insiders suspect that the death of Ex-CEO Steve Jobs’ death might have helped in surging sales since the iPhone was considered Jobs’ pet project. The base model of the iPhone 4S costs $199 in the US with a 2-year contract and will also be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, and Britain.

Apple iPhone 4S Goes on Sale Today

The iPhone 4S initially was panned by critics, who said it was more of a facelift to the iPhone 4 than a new product. The phone’s exterior looks the same as its predecessor, but the guts are new. Inside there’s a faster A5 dual-core processor, an improved 8 megapixel camera and a voice assistant named Siri, who will respond to voice commands and answer questions.
