Motorola Introduces Ruggedized Tablet for Enterprise Users

By

Motorola has introduced the ET1 Tablet today running Android 2.3 OS designed specifically for the enterprise market. The 1.4 pound ET1 features an extra durable “Gorilla Glass” 7-inch color display with 1024×600 resolution powered by a 1GHz dual-core CPU. The tablet has 8GB of internal storage but comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion. The eight megapixel rear camera and the front-facing camera are designed for 720P video conferencing. Motorola hasn’t announced what the cost of the tablet is going to be yet, but it should cost less than $1000 a unit depending on the delivered configuration.

Intended for demanding day-long use, the Wi-Fi-enabled ET1 is password-protected so it can be easily shared and instantly provisioned for each employee according to his or her level of responsibility and access rights. Based on log-in information, managers can automatically control and monitor use of approved applications to help ensure on-the-job productivity is not compromised.
