Amazon considering Netflix-like book service

Even with the recent price hikes, Netflix customer base is still going strong. Now it appears Amazon may latch on to that model for books for its Amazon Prime customers. Basically, those users would pay an annual fee to have access to “rentals” of digital books to read at their leisure. Nothing is set in stone yet but Amazon seems to be doing the legwork to gauge interest and get publishers on board. Is this something you would be interested in signing up for?

Amazon is considering a Netflix-like service that would let people pay an annual fee to get book “rentals,” according to a published report. The Wall Street Journal on Monday said the company has reached out to publishers but that it’s unclear whether the idea has much chance of catching on.
