PNY Launches Liquid Cooled NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 Video Cards

By

Back in April 2011, we showed you news of a video that showed off a prototype PNY XLR8 GTX580 video card with a Asetek liquid cooler attached to it. Here we are four months later and the company has finally released the final version of the product. We aren’t sure what took them over four months to bring this to market, but at least it is finally here! The PNY XLR8 Liquid Cooled GTX 580 video card runs $579.99 and if you want it with CPU cooling you better dig deeper into that wallet as that retails for $649.99. Besides water cooling these cards feature an overclocked core running at 857MHz versus the standard cards 772MHz or the SuperClocked version of 802MHz. The PNY GeForce GTX580 costs $419.99 after rebate and the PNY GeForce GTX580 SuperClocked is $429.99. So, at the end of the day you get a 55MHz higher overclock with water cooling for an extra $150. You’ll have to ask yourself if it is worth it.
