Intel Roadmap on Sandy Bridge-E Processors Leaked – Core i7 3960X

An Intel Roadmap has been leaked on the Turkish site DonanimHaber that is worth taking a look at. It appears to offer some new details on the upcoming Sandy Bridge-E Processor series. These are the 22nm processors that has been talked about a bunch in the enthusiast community lately. According to the roadmap that has been posted, Intel would release its Sandy Bridge-E Lineup in Q4 2011 with 3 Debut processors which will be compatible with the LGA 2011 socket motherboards featuring the X79 Express chipset that goes by the codenamed Patsburg. The first three processors will include Core i7 3960X (Extreme Edition), Core i7 3930K (Unlocked Multiplier) and Core i7 3820 (Locked Multiplier) CPUs. The Intel Core i7 3960X would be the flagship Sandy Bridge-E processor with 6 Cores/ 12 Threads, 15MB L3 Cache and a TDP of 130W. The clock speeds of this processor will be 3.33GHz, but it has turbo mode that allows it to clock all the way up to 3.9Ghz in certain scenarios. We can only hope that Intel can get these out in October and with a fully functioning X79 Express chipset!

Intel Sandy Bridge-E Roadmap

According to the roadmap that we received, the new Intel Core i7-990X model, and the fastest processor will be replaced by the Core i7-3960X model will carry the title of the position of a new push in the second quarter.
