Alienware M18x Gaming Notebook w/ Dual AMD Radeon HD 6990M GPUs Announced
AMD posted up a video that shows off the Alienware M18x 18-inch gaming laptop that is worth taking a look at. Peter Ross from AMD went got a chance to speak with Eddy Goyanes from Alienware and see an Alienware M18x notebook that was running the just announced AMD Radeon HD 6990M GPU. This notebook was already the fastest 18-inch notebook in the world, but it is even faster now thanks to the 6990M. Alienware says that the M18x can support TWO AMD Radeon HD 6990M 2GB discrete video cards in CrossFireX. The Alienware M18x starts at $1999. and the dual 2GB AMD Radeon HD 6990M upgrade will run you an additional $500. They mention the battery life is up to three hours, but don’t mention the details as to how they got that number. If we had to guess we would say that is idle time with just one GPU!
