Qualcomm Snapdragon on 4G/LTE vs. NVIDIA Tegra 2 on HSPA+

By

Qualcomm has released a video that compares their latest generation single-core Snapdragon processor with 4G LTE to a competitors dual-core processor on HSPA+. When it comes to processor performance we don’t think it’s fair to compare HSPA+ to 4G LTE and claim one processor is better than the other as we all know the network plays a huge part in that. The ‘competitors’ dual-core phone is clearly the Motorola Atrix and we know that phone uses the NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core 1GHz processor. The phone that Qualcomm is using for the 4G LTE network appears to be the HTC Thunderbolt that uses the 1GHz, second-generation Qualcomm MSM8655 Snapdragon processor. I think our readers know better than to drink this Kool-Aid! I hope NVIDIA responds to this video by showing some real processor or gaming benchmarks!

Everybodys talking about 4G and now wed like to show you what you get with Snapdragon on 4G/LTE. Qualcomms Snapdragon 2nd Generation mobile processor with 4G LTE is designed to enable an incredibly responsive and dynamic user experience. By carefully matching overall mobile system performance with high-speed network connectivity, Snapdragon provides the extra power and performance that users want in the latest generation of smartphones. I encourage you to take a few minutes to watch Keith Kressin, VP Strategy and Analysis talk about what this really means to users and show a comparison of the power of Snapdragons 2nd generation single-core mobile processor on 4G/LTE against a competitors dual-core mobile processor on HSPA+.
