ECS Black Series X79R-A Motherboard Pictured At Computex 2011

By

We have gotten our hands on pictures of the ECS Black Series X79R-A motherboard that is being shown in their booth at Computex 2011. The X79R-A is one of the first LGA2011 motherboards that we have seen up close and it looks to be a very well built enthusiast oriented board. From the image below you can make out that the board has 10 of the SATA 6Gbps ports along the bottom edge and two sets of DDR3 2600MHz DIMM slots for quad-channel memory. One of the other areas of interest is the Intel LGA2011 socket itself as it appears to use two levers and one must be opened/closed before the other, as shown by the markings on the socket. It also looks like Socket R is going to be using a brand new screw retention mechanism for CPU coolers rather than the push-pull pin type that is currently in use. We can’t wait for these boards to come out! You can see a couple more images of this board in our forums!
