SuperTalent Announces New USB 3.0 Flash Drive

By

SuperTalent recently introduced a new USB 3.0 flash drive called the USB 3.0 Express DUO 2-CH that is worth taking a peak at this morning. The drive should sound familiar to you as it is basically an update of the original budget friendly DUO. The housing has been upgraded and there is now a cap-less design in use. Rather than using a removable cap Super Talent has a twist system in place that reveals and conceals the USB 3.0 port inside. The 2-channel design of the Express Duo 2-CH can top over 67MB/s sequential read speeds and 18MB/s sequential write speeds when plugged into a USB 3.0 port. The original Duo came out in October 2010 (read the press release) and it had 67MB/s read and 23MB/s write speeds, so performance hasn’t improved and this only appears like a housing change.

The 2-channel design of the Express Duo 2-CH can top over 67MB/s when plugged into a USB 3.0 port, yet remains fully-backward compatible to USB 2.0 and for about the same price. This new flash drive also comes pre-installed with Microsoft Security Essentials, real-time protection for your home PC that guards against viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. Our USB 3.0 drive makes it easy to install this software on all of your PCs. “Here is a USB 3.0 drive that performs, yet stays on budget. There is simply really no reason to buy a USB 2.0 flash drive anymore” CH Lee COO of SuperTalent.
