Explosion at Foxconn’s Chengdu plant kills two

Reports are surfacing that there has been an explosion at a Foxconn plant in Chengdu killing at least two people and injuring 16 or more. Early reports indicate that this was caused by a lightning strike. This is also apparently where a production line for iPad 2 exists. It’s unknown what impact, if any, this will have on iPad 2 supply but the focus should be on impact to the workers and their families – especially those killed or injured.

An explosion occurred at Foxconn’s Chengdu plant earlier today, with reports claiming several workers have been injured. The Taiwanese company has yet to release a statement regarding figures and the cause of this tragedy, but according to 21st Century Business Herald, witnesses saw a lightning hit the A05 building before the explosion took place…
