NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Video Card Launching May 17th

By

Rumor has it that NVIDIA will be releasing another video card for the mainstream video card market! This time around it will be the GeForce GTX 560 video card and it appears to be directly competing with the AMD Radeon HD 6790. This card is not to be confused with the GeForce GTX 560 Ti edition as it has fewer cores, 336 versus 384, and that appears to be the main architectural difference according to the rumors going around today. The AMD Radeon HD 6790 is a $150 graphics card, so we’d expect this card to cost slightly more than that. The GeForce GTX 560 Ti can be found for $199 after rebate, so we can see this card coming out for ~$40 less. We will find out in due time what the real price is. The NVIDIA graphics card lineup is starting to get pretty full, but AMD has even more.
