Worlds First Full Robot Marathon Being Held in Japan

By

Four robots will soon compete for first place in the full 26.2-mile marathon to see which robot will win. Of the four competitors, three are two-legged robots and the fourth contender is on wheels. It should be noted that these are life size robots as the tallest one is only 16-inches in height. The marathon will take place in Osaka, Japan next week on February 24. The race is expected to last four days next week, so you might want to book a hotel room if you want to watch!

The robots will have to “run” around the 328ft course 422 times to complete the marathon. It will take them an estimated four days to finish. The robots will be allowed battery changes and repairs if needed, but they will have to get up on their own if they fall over. All four robots were built by either Osaka Institute of Technology or a venture company called Vstone which specialises in robots.
