95% Of Paradox’s Revenue Stems From Digital Distribution

Paradox Interactive’s CEO Fred Wester has a few choice words to say about their digital distribution revenue: “My own experience of digital distribution is that we made 1.5 percent of our revenue from digital distribution in 2006, while the digital number in 2011 was over 95%.”. The simple fact their digital distribution revenue increased by 93.5% over five years is insane. The increase itself is attributed to two things according to Wester, one is customers replacing physical media for digital, the other the big push Paradox has made on the digital front itself. Those two factors are what has driven growth, Paradox has made their games available everywhere imaginable and made it convenient for customers at every turn. It seems a number of publishers could learn a thing or two from Fred Wester and Paradox Interactive.
