$50,000 NVIDIA VCA with 8 Quadro M6000 Cards for Rendering Images
The NVIDIA Visual Computing Appliance (VCA) is a powerful network-attached appliance that harnesses the power of the eight NVIDIA GPUs to ensure making interactive photorealistic digital 3D models and scenes a pain free experience. We just ran across the next-generation VCA that was loaded up with not one, but EIGHT NVIDIA Quadro M6000 12GB graphics cards!
This is a little more mouth-watering than the one NVIDIA Quadro M6000 card that we saw in the PNY booth earlier today.
The NVIDIA Quadro M6000 has 3072 CUDA cores (assuming it has the same number enabled as the Titan X) and is rated at roughly 7 TFLOPS of compute performance. If those numbers are correct this NVIDIA iRAY VCA solution with eight Quadro M6000 cards has a whopping 24,576 CUDA cores and nearly 56 TFLOPS of compute power! At an estimated $4,500 a card this box will set you back roughly $50,000 by the time you add up the costs of all the components.
It’s not an everyday occurrence that you get to check out a box with that much performance! CAD and CGI specialists you can clean up that drool from your chin now!
