External Impressions of the Zalman CNPS9900 MAX
The CNPS9900 MAX is more like the design that most enthusiasts associate with Zalman: the barrel shape with fins in a radial pattern and a center mounted fan. The whole cooler is copper with a black nickel plating that Zalman calls the Black Pearl Finish.
The CNPS9900 MAX has two sets of fins with the fan mounted in the center. The heatpipes run through the center of the fins and an accent ring on the outer edge helps keep the fins from bending.
The radial fin arrangement also gives the CNPS9900 MAX 5,402 square Centimeters, or 5.8 square feet, of cooling surface.
The front or intake side has only one heatpipe.
The exhaust side has two heatpipes with slightly bigger fins.
The base of the CNPS9900 MAX is like a mirror and is flat.
