HD Tach v3.0.4.0

HD Tach is a low level hardware benchmark for random access read/write storage devices such as hard drives, removable drives (ZIP/JAZZ), flash devices, and RAID arrays. HD Tach uses custom device drivers and other low level Windows interfaces to bypass as many layers of software as possible and get as close to the physical performance of the device as possible.

HD Tach Benchmark Results

Benchmark Results: The WD SiliconEdge Blue 256GB SSD was able to reach 218.8MB/s read and 107.4MB/s write. Something strange is going on with the write score, so we will need to keep an eye on that in the other benchmarks we run to see if it keeps happening. The random access time and CPU utilization were
really low, which is what we like to see on SSDs.

HD Tach Benchmark Results

Comparison Chart: Compared to other popular SSDs the WD SiliconEdge Blue 256GB SSD had the slowest average read speed at just 218.8GB/s. The average write speed was 107.4MB/s, which isn’t too bad considering the performance dropped off at the very end of the benchmark.
