Sony Takes Lead on Virtual Reality Front

Sony psvrAs video games enter the dawn of easy accessible virtual reality Sony has done more than enough to solidify their spot at the top. Although Sony already stole the show with God of War and Horizon, their main show floor showcased the Playstation VR. In terms of hardware The Playstation VR headset is very stylish, but it takes some tedious adjusting to get the vision correct. The Gun/Controller has a boring looks, but the functionality is top notch. The buttons and analog sticks are positioned perfectly in manner that even supports southpaw gamers.

We were able to experience the two genres everyone is waiting for: FPS and Horror. The FPS played was Far Point. In Far Point you traverse a desert planet while fighting creatures reminiscent of StarShip Troopers. The aiming has virtually no lag and the turn response of the headset is on point also. There did not seem to be an aim assist so hitting the target definitely felt good doing it on your own. The part that really gave the game its immersive feel was the ability to actually crouch behind a rock (physically without a button) and then blind fire your weapon over or on the side of your cover. The experience as a whole was great and with only a few minor bugs( too precise in certain motions). The next game we were able to get our hands on was Resident Evil: Biohazard.

Now most PlayStation 4 users know that the demo is available in the PS store, but using the Playstation VR is a total different experience. So far there was not too much in terms over action, but the focus of this game lies in how perfectly creepy the environments have been designed. We are sure titles like Resident Evil: Biohazard will flood the market rivaling the movies.

These are only two of the fifty titles that will be available when the Playstation VR is available October this year for $399.99.
