Sony 2014 E3 Press Conference

Its that time of year again where the biggest names in gaming convene to exhibit their new games and hardware at the 2014 Electronic Entertainment Expo. As Microsoft left the spectators stunned with such announcements as The Halo Master Chief Collection and Fable Legends, Sony took the stage determined to turn the audience to their side. Sony began their presentation with a trailer of the highly anticipated RPG shooter Destiny. CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Andrew House revealed the release of the 500gb White PlayStation 4 bundled with a controller, PS Plus, and a copy of Destiny.

Those who prefer a more E-rated multiplayer experience were pleased with the announcement of the third instillation of the Little Big Planet series. LBP 3 offers a more complex puzzle/co-op experience with the addition of new characters with their own unique abilities i.e Toggle and his superior strength. The next Sony exclusive BloodBorne was brought to us via From Software. It would be hard to imagine that the developers of the Dark Souls could out do themselves, but the eerie gory trailer of BloodBorne definitely puts gamers on the edge of their seats in anticipation of the carnage.

Next on the big screen is Far Cry 4, and although it is available to multiple consoles Sony ups the ante with an interesting feature that allows players to invite their friends to the game even though they do not have it. Sony’s Adam Boyes makes an entrance and asks a question thats on the tip of many gamers tongues,”Whats seen festering in the zombie department? The answer to this question is Dead Island 2 as it came in the form of a trailer of a man going for a job while the zombie apocalypse unfolds in his trail as he too becomes one of the infected. The finale of the revealed Video games consisted of never before seen gameplay of Mortal Kombat X and the trailer for PlayStation acclaimed exclusive Uncharted 4: A Thiefs End.

Although the presented selection of games had the audience cheering Sony was not finished yet as they spoke on the various hardware they intend to release. Andrew House returns to the stage and ensures that Sony is currently improving the PlayStation camera as well as the long awaited virtual reality Morpheus gear. House was proud to announce that there will be a booth placed during the convention where gamers will be able to play one of two demos using the Morpheus (Jurassic Encounter & Street Luge). As we know PlayStation Now allows us to play Ps3 games on our Ps4, but now it will also come as a device that will sync with Sony T.Vs . With PlayStation Now connected to the television all we need is a DualShock 3 controller and then we have access to over 100 Ps3 games.
