OC Main Event Founded in 1994, Corsair is a well known manufacturer of enthusiast class memory modules and tons of other PC accessories. During the OC MAIN EVENT that took place during IDF this week we were able to watch a presentation by Corsair Chief Executive Officer Andy Paul that spokeabout the history of the company and how they have an important anniversary coming up next year. Corsair was founded in 1994 by Andy Paul, Don Lieberman, and John Beekley. This means that Corsair turns 20 next year! 33mhz-memory When Corsair started out in 1994 they were selling 33MHz L2 Cache Modules and over the years they got into overclocking memory and became a juggernaut in the overclocking, enthusiast and gaming communities. 3300mhz-memory It appears that Corsair has no plans on slowing down when it comes to memory overclocking and has a goal of releasing a 3300MHz DDR3 memory kit by January 2014. This would be a 100% increase in clock frequency in the memory that Corsair started shipping way back in 1994!  Earlier this year, Corsair announced that they would be selling limited edition Vengeance Extreme Memory at 3000MHz in an 8GB kit with CL12 timings. This kit runs $749 and includes two 4GB DDR3 DIMMs with latency settings of 12-14-14-36 and operates at 1.65V. Pretty cool, but damn expensive as not many modules can run that fast and they have to be hand screened in the test lab to be certified at those speeds. That 3000MHz kit was very limited in production and has been out of stock for a fair bit of time.  We have no doubt that Corsair will be able to come out with a 3300MHz memory kit, but we hope that they don't release it with an astronomically high price! Celebrate your 20th birthday, but don't forget about the community that got you there!
