Leak: NVIDIA GTX 660 SE Graphics Card on the Way to Compete With HD 7850

Rumors have been circulating for some time now that one more midrange Kepler-based graphics card from NVIDIA is on the way. However, some leaked details over at chinese forum PCEVA now seem to confirm this. This will be the GTX 660 SE graphics card, sitting in between the GTX 650 Ti and GTX 660 in performance terms.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 SE GPU-Z screenshot

The leaker has posted the GPU-Z screenshot above, showing a 28nm GK106 Kepler GPU (note that the name may well be slightly different on a production card and updated GPU-Z) a core clock of 928MHz, same as the GTX 650 Ti, but the CUDA core count reduced from 960 to 768 and featuring a lower Boost clock of 1006MHz along with a slightly slower memory clock of 5800MHz (effective). The memory bus is 192-bit, like on the GTX 660. The card has one 6 pin PCI-E power connector and a TDP of about 125W with display outputs including Stacked DVI, HDMI and Display port.

A few 3D Mark 11 benchmarks were also run, showing an average performance improvement over the GTX 650 Ti of 20-25%, but slower than the GTX 660 by about 10-15%. This pits the card against the AMD HD 7850 in terms of performance, although the price isn't known, but should be in the range of $179-$199. Launch date is expected to be early Q1 2013.
