Motorola Announces Three New DROID RAZRs With Edge-to-Edge Screens, 4G LTE & Longer Battery Life

Motorola Mobility has introduced three new additions to the RAZR family of phones, the DROID RAZR M, DROID RAZR HD and DROID RAZR MAXX HD, all featuring edge-to-edge screens and 4G LTE superfast wireless connectivity. One model also features super-long battery life.

The RAZR M features a 4.3 inch edge-to-edge display, which virtually eliminated the border, or bezel. Motorola claim that this still gives 40% more screen real estate than the leading competitor.

The RAZR HD has a bigger 4.7 inch high definition screen, offering the same clarity as a HDTV and "beats the competition* with 85 percent greater color saturation and 50 percent more pixels per inch." The battery lasts for 10 hours of movie/TV watching or 6 hours web surfing. It also has built-in GPS navigation with 6 hours of battery life.

The RAZR MAXX HD is the daddy of the range, offering the same features as the RAZR HD, "but takes battery life to a whole new level. We're talking 32 hours of performance with the longest-lasting LTE smartphone. You can literally get through an entire Hollywood trilogy with 13 hours of straight video playback, up to 10 hours of YouTube HD content or surf the day away with up to 8 hours of web browsing". Sounds amazing and a feature that is sure to catch on since poor battery life is an issue with modern smartphones.

For US customers purchasing online only, Motorola are offering special "developer editions" of the RAZR M and RAZR MAXX HD phones, which allow the bootloader to be modified using Motorola's tools and custom features to be developed. They do warn that this will invalidate the warranty, however. Nevertheless, it's fantastic to see a manufacturer actively encouraging the modding community and we hope that this capability spreads to other models and other countries.

The RAZR M is available for pre-order now from Verizon for $99.99 after rebate and two year contract, with availability starting September 13. The RAZR HD and RAZR MAXX HD will be available "before the holidays".

Full details and specifications along with lots of pictures of these phones are available at the link below. Finally, all these phones are being offered on 4G LTE contracts with Verizon. Full details of these deals and even more pictures, are available here.

DROID RAZR MAXX HD: Long Live the Battery

Packed with the same leading features as DROID RAZR HD, the DROID RAZR MAXX HD raises the industry standard for battery life with 32 hours of normal use. The DROID RAZR MAXX HD is remarkably thin, yet packs sufficient battery power for 13 hours of straight video playback, enough to watch a movie trilogy without needing a charge. Customers also have enough battery life to talk the day away with up to 21 hours of continuous talk time or browse the Web on 4G LTE for up to a full eight hours.
