Lenovo Announces ThinkPad X1 Carbon and ThinkPad T430u Ultrabooks

Lenovo has announced its ThinkPad X1 Carbon and ThinkPad T430u 14 inch ultrabooks. The X1 Carbon is their top of the range ultrabook, featuring a carbon fibre body, making it the world's lightest 14 inch ultrabook with a starting weight of 2.99lbs. It also has a 1600x900 screen resolution with storage options up to a 256GB SSD (HDD option not offered) and up to 8GB RAM. It also has the option of 3G mobile broadband. It will come with Windows 7 Professional and be priced at $1,299.

The T430u is aimed at more budget conscious buyers, but it still features a "high resolution" screen (spec not yet revealed) and NVIDIA graphics with storage options up to a 128GB SSD or 1TB HDD and up to 8GB RAM. It will come with Windows 7 Professional and be priced at $779.

Both computers will be powered by Intel's Ivy Bridge processors and will go on sale later this month. Full details and technical specifications for both models are available at the link below.

Lenovo showcased the ThinkPad X1 Carbon along with the new ThinkPad T430u Ultrabook at an event at The Modern with tours of The Museum of Modern Art where the famous ThinkPad 701c "butterfly keyboard" laptop is on display and part of the Museum's collection.
