Kontron Brings NVIDIA Tegra 3 To Desktop With KTT30/mITX ARM-Based Motherboard

Kontron, a global leader in embedded computing technology, has announced its first embedded ARM-based Mini-ITX (170mm x 170mm) motherboard. The KTT30/mITX will be equipped with none other than NVIDIA's Tegra 3. Using the ultra low-power GeForce GPU paired with an ARM Cortex-A9 quadcore processor running at 900 MHz, the board will offer impressive 3D graphic performance with energy consumption under 7 watts. The performance the KTT30/mITX offers will make it a perfect fit for video-oriented embedded applications such as thin clients, Panel PCs, Mini-Box PCs and more. Making use of the Mini-ITX form factor also allows for OEMs to integrate the innovative ARM technology off the shelf and straight into their embedded applications. Add to this Kontron's comprehensive customization services, as well as their extensive software support for Android and Linux OEMs, and you have a system with minimal development time and costs. The KTT30/mITX from Kontron, as with all their embedded motherboards will have long term availability of at least seven years. As for specifications you can find a full list below, however a brief overview of the KTT30/mITX has it featuring the NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor with four ARM Cortex A9 cores which run at up to 900 MHz. One other core running at 500 MHz reduces power consumption to 1 watt or less when idle or during media playback. The integrated 12-core NVIDIA GPU offers resolutions of up to 2048x1536 pixels and allows for 3D graphics and dynamic lighting. Pricing and availability of the Kontron KTT30/mITX is unknown, but is expected soon.
