Intel Introduces 56GB SSD to Their 535 Series Lineup
Today Intel has introduced a 56GB 2.5-inch, 7mm thick SSD to its highly successful 535 Series drives. You might be asking yourself, Why do I need or want a low capacity drive these days? Intels target market behind this drive is actually quite niche, as this drive will be geared towards market segments requiring low-density storage, including but not limited to: ATMs, Kiosks / Point of Sale, Mini PCs and Terminals, Digital Signage, and IoT Applications. These are definitely niche markets that are targeted, but with Intel you can always expect high quality and reliability among their products.
Still featuring all of the same benefits of the other drives in this series, including a 5-year warranty and still featuring 16nm NAND, you can expect sequential reads up to 540 MB/s, sequential writes up to 490 MB/s, 48K random read IOPs, and 80K random write IOPs.
MSRP is $59 for this little drive and will be available starting today.
