Google Unveils The Web Connected Talking Shoe
Are you ready to own a pair of shoes that have a personality? Google has unveiled a “talking shoe,” able to articulate about 250 phrases at SXSW. It sounds really cool, but wouldn’t it get annoying after the first couple days? Perhaps. The sneakers have accelerometer, a gyroscope, a pedometer, and other technologies inside that let a microprocessor know when you’ve been sitting too long or when to pick up the pace. You also get updates on how your workout is going.
As time goes on, the shoe collects information and then are able to develop a personality. Google said that these shoes won’t be sold any time soon saying that they are “an experiment, as part of a broader marketing program, to spark conversations with brand marketers and agencies.” A video on the shoes can be found below that will let you see them in action. Now go run along and ponder a future with talking shoes!
