Gigabyte’s GeForce GTX 1070 Mini ITX OC Video Card Looks Mighty

Meet the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Mini ITX OC video card that has come to market under part number GV-N1070IXOC-8GD. This card measures in at just 6.7-inches in length (17cm) and still manages to fit a custom GPU cooler with three direct touch copper heatpipes along with a 90mm 3D stripe curved cooling fan to keep NVIDIA’s latest Pascal GP104 GPU running nice and cool despite being factory overclocked.

The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Mini ITX OC comes out of the box in ‘gaming’ mode and that means it has a base clock of 1531MHz and a 1721MHz boost clock on the cards 1920 CUDA cores that are enabled on the GP104 GPU. Thanks to Gigabyte’s one-click super overclocking in the optional XTREME Engine Utility app you can run the card in ‘OC Mode’ and that means it will have a higher 1556MHz base clock and 1746MHz boost clock. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition features a base clock of 1506MHz and a boost clock of 1683MHz, so OC mode gives this card a 3.7% overclock straight from the factory. The 8GB of GDDR5 memory runs at the standard speed of 8Gbps on a 256-bit bus for 256 GB/s of memory bandwidth.

Gigabyte says that this card was built from the ground up for overclocking as it features a 5+1 power phase design for more stable voltage output compared to the GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition that has a 4+1 power phase design. Gigabyte Ultra Durable VGA technology also places the highest-grade solid capacitors, metal chokes, MOSFET and Tier 1 GDDR5 memory on the board.
