3DMark Vantage is the new industry standard PC gaming performance benchmark from Futuremark, newly designed for Windows Vista and DirectX10. It includes two new graphics tests, two new CPU tests, several new feature tests, and support for the latest hardware. 3DMark Vantage is based on a completely new rendering engine, developed specifically to take full advantage of DirectX10, the new graphics API from Microsoft.

Benchmark Results: Depending on what your thoughts are about the PhysX configuration of NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards and 3DMark Vantage will determine where the GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 470 Super Overclocked Edition falls for you. With PhysX running on the GPU the GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 470 Super Overclock Edition easily leads the pack with nearly 100 3DMarks over the EVGA GeForce GTX 470 Hydro Copper FTW and more than 2400 3DMarks more than the HIS Radeon HD 5870, at least for the overall scores. Looking at the scores of all of the graphics cards with PhysX limited to the CPU the HIS Radeon HD 5870 leads the pack with an overall score of 17743 3DMarks which is 659 3DMarks higher than the GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 470 SOC. Looking Solely at the GPU scores the GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 470 SOC was 5.9% faster than the EVGA GeForce GTX 470 Hydro Copper FTW and 5% slower than the HIS Radeon HD 5870.
