BIOSTAR Hi-Fi Z97WE Intel Z97 Motherboard Images Released
Biostar must be feeling left out of the mix with all the Intel Z97 board previews and reviews going up ahead of Intel’s official launch date, so they sent over a couple images of the Biostar Hi-Fi Z97WE v5.0 Motherboard. Biostar did give us any information besides these two images, so we aren’t sure what the exact specifications of the Hi-Fi Z97WE v5.0 will be. We can tell a few things just by looking at the ultra high resolution picture they sent
For starters the board has two PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (each are electronically x8 when SLI or CrossFire is being used) and there are also two PCIe x1 and a pair of PCI slots. Biostar went with a 10 Gb/s M.2 slot for NGFF storage support and opted to skip having SATA Express header on the motherboard itself. Biostar did use all six SATA III 6Gbps ports though as there are internal headers for all of them. The board appears to be using a 10-phase VRM power setup and there are four DDR3 memory slots that are rated for 2800MHz and beyond memory kits. It also looks like you have six SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports and when it comes to video outputs you have VGA (D-Sub), HDMI and dual-link DVI. Biostar has put a ton of time and effort into stepping up their audio performance and it looks like this board is no different. The BioStar Hi-Fi Z97WE v5.0 has the Puro Hi-Fi audio solution that consists of Hi-Fi Resistors, Hi-Fi Capacitors, Hi-Fi Ground, Hi-Fi AMP and a Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) of 110+ dB.
