Audi Presents Prologue Show Car in Los Angeles
In one of the most highly anticipated press conferences in recent history, Audi unveiled their new Prologue Concept Show Car. Meant to show the benchmark of Audi future design, Audis Head of Development, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg described the Prologue effort as a perfect showcase of Audi DNA.Marc Lichte, Audis Head of Design had the honor of introducing the new concept car to a packed room of dignitaries and press. Lichte stated, Audi stands for sportiness, lightweight design and the quattro permanent all-wheel drive. In the Audi prologue, we are expressing this know-how in a new form we have put the sportiest car in the luxury segment on wheels. Our team took new approaches in both exterior and interior design. Somewhat surprisingly, the Audi Prologue is a 2-door coupe (as it had been heavily rumored that an A9 4-door was going to be shown) that reminds us of a sleeker 2-door A8. The interior is where this new Audi really steps out of the norm with a clear and roomy interior and all new instrument panel. The entire front of the instrument panel is a large touch display. In fact, most of the buttons are touch including the door handle.
Along with the interior highlights, the Audi Prologue Concept car features a 4.0 TFSI engine that produces 445 kW (605 hp!) of power and 750 Nm (553.2 lb-ft) of torque; The reported acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 3.7 seconds.
Slightly shorter than an standard Audi A8, the Audi Prologue measures in at 5.10 meters (16.7 ft), with a wheelbase of 2.94 meters (9.6 ft), width of 1.95 meters (6.4 ft) and height of 1.39 meters (4.6 ft).
