OCZ's Second Generation SSD's
The message from OCZ at CES 2010 was that they were investing heavily into SSD's. As one of the top producers of performance leading SSD's, OCZ is now readying their second generation of Vertex Solid-State Drives to be even faster and better thanks to a new controller.
For enthusiasts, OCZ is planning the Vertex 2 MLC drive. It is based on the Sandforce SF-1200 controller, and capable of 270MB/s read and 260MB/s write speeds. IOPS are at 9,500 for 4K random writes.
OCZ will also offer a similar model to Enterprise class as the Vertex 2 Pro, based on the SF-1500 controller. It is capable of up to 280MB/s read and 270MB/s write. IOPS are an impressive 19,000 at 4K random writes.
SLC will also be available as the Vertex 2 Pro EX, an Enterprise drive, making use of the Sandforce SF-1500 controller. Max read is 280 MB/s and 270 MB/s, with 25,000 IOPS at 4K random writes.
