For the past few months, we have had the privilege of evaluating some of the new flagship routers from the major networking manufactures. The common thread to these routers has been their super-fast wireless-AC (802.11ac) speeds and their robust feature set and user interface. Today, we take a look at the Amped Wireless TAP-R2 Dual-Band AC750 router which brings a feature we have never seen here at Legit Reviews a touch screen! Amped Wireless designed the TAP-R2 with a 3.5 touch screen that allows a user to setup and manage the router with ease and even serves as a digital clock when not in use. Another major factor with this router is that its MSRP is only $159.99 and the street price is just $124.99 shipped at Amazon, which is much less than any of the flagship 802.11ac routers we have encountered in recent years. Of course, at this price point, we arent really expecting the same level of Wireless-AC performance, but lets take a look at what Amped has packed in the TAP-R2.

The Amped Wireless TAP-R2 amplifiers have up to 800 mW of power for the single external (and multiple internal) high gain antennas. With this antenna and amplifier architecture, the TAP-R2 is supposed to provide up to 3-times the range over a standard routers.
