AMD Radeon R9 370 Video Card To Be Released in April 2015?
It looks like VideoCardz got their hands on some internal information from XFX that shows some information about the upcoming AMD Radeon R9 370 video card.
It looks like someone took a picture of a screen that shows the preliminary information for the XFX Core Radeon R9 370! The image shows that XFX will be offering 2GB and 4GB GDDR5 versions of this model utilizing a 256-bit bus and both will feature XFX’s Ghost2 GPU cooler. The part number on the 2GB card is R9-370A-CNF and the 4GB card is R9-370A-ENF. Both of the Radeon R9 370 cards will be using the AMD Trinidad Pro GPU. The Trinidad Pro GPU isrumored to be replacing Curacao Pro that is used on the Radeon R9 265 and Radeon R9 270 graphics cards.
Both cards are 167mm in length, which is just 6.6-inches! That almost sounds like an erroneous entry, but the specifications also show that this is a single fan card and the board power is only in the 110W to 130W range. That means the cards will be powered by a single 6-pin PCIe power connector. This could be the makings for a very compact card that could be ideal for Mini-ITX gaming systems or Steam Machines that will be hitting store shelves in November 2015.
The most interesting thing about the listings though is that the launch date is shown as ‘Early April, 2015’ and that is a bit earlier than we expected in all honesty. Could NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 960 be finally getting some competition in the $199 ‘sweet spot’ this spring? We aren’t sure as this directly contradicts the rumors that that AMD is planning to roll out the entire Radeon R9 300-series at once this summer around the Computex 2015 time frame.
